Tonight the Scout Covered Lashings and we talk about responsibility and respect and team work. Also I gave a quick brief about summer camp to the Scouts. We will meet 1 Mar same time and place.
- 22 Feb 2010 Parents Meeting Night. Thanks to all who show up. We talk about Summer Camp where we are going and cost. Also we will talk about troop leadership position that are opening up and ones that need to be filled. The troop and the Scouts need your help. I will get a list of Troop leadership jobs and see what opening that the adults would like to fill.
- Also we had John Lyon come by and do a Friends of Scouting Brief and we did great for the people that show up we raise $650 with only 5 people. We only need $1050 to reach our FOS Goal which is 50 per Scout and we have 21 on the Books. If you want to Donate please call me or go by the Scout office and fill out a form and mark on it or tell them it is for Troop 2.
- Troop 2 will be going to Summer Camp at KIA KIMA in Eastern Arkansas near Hardy Arkansas. Here is a Link to the camp Web Site. http://www.kiakima.com/campprograms.shtml . There is a lot of information on it and it will answer the question that you need. You need to Sit down with your Scout and pick out Merit Badges that they want to take at Summer Camp. I would suggest at Least one Eagle Merit badge that they need please try to take. Also please have other in Mind for alternate merit badge just in case the one you want is full. Barry should have a list of Merit badge that they have completed and handed out to you so you will not do double the work. Remember all Scouts who want to go to summer camp will go! If you need help in a scholarship for Summer Camp please let us know so we can get enough funds to cover everyone the first time.
- Here are the Scouts that I know who said they wanting to go to Summer Camp. Austin, Christopher C, Timothy, Zander, Nathan, Matt M, Zach K, Thor, Jaidyn, Zach L, Sam W, Josh, Nicky. That is 13 and we have Landon, Jacob, Patrick and possible Christopher McDonald who might go so a total of 17. Which that means Two Vehicles going to Camp and 4 Adults which two would stay for the week of the Camp. If you are interested in Helping please let us know. Summer Camp is 13-19 June.
- 13 Feb we pick up Bags for Scouting for Food and had around 900 pounds. Way to go for the Area we had and for the Scout who placed the Bags. 14 Feb we had Scout Sunday and had a few scout show up I would of like more but we did with what we had. Jacob did the pledge of allegiance and Landon did the reading for the service. All that showed up did a great Job. Thank you!!
- The Troop has a few Life Scouts working on their Eagle projects and they will need your help so be ready when they call. They need all the help they can get thank you!!!!!.
- The schedule looks like for the next months of camping. Mar: 12-14 Camping at Devils Den State Park, hiking and caving if open!!! Apr: 9-11 Camping at Redding or Ozone May: Spring Camporee is April 30 to May 2 at the old fort Gun Club. May 21-23 go Camping at Camp ORR. Jun: 13-19 at Kia Kima Summer Camp at the First part of Jun July: Jambo at AP Hill 100 years of Scouting
